No matter what We might be facing, let's remember who He says He is in his word and grab a hold of it to speak into our situations. Breathe.....Read......and Be blessed

Listen guys, I'm gonna take you into an amazing journey
Our adventure into the names of God begins here...
El or if you prefer the english way "God".
You are one and yet three, Elohim.
You appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as The God Almighty or should I say El-Shaddai. You are all sufficient.
Now, getting a little bit personal. Let me introduce you to Him as
El-Emet, the God of truth, who can be completely trusted with every aspect of your life and he will never fail you .
And Without getting too emotional...
from superman to batman, not to mention the fantastic four
These are the characters we all wish we could portray in real life. But as powerful as they are, they're nothing compared to our heroic God,
El-Gibbor, the mighty God
He rises up and dramatically defeats the bad guys.
He rises up at the right time and does the right thing.
David described you as El-Yeshuati, the God of my salvation
To me,
El-Sela: you are my rock.
Most important, you have not looked at my sins but you forgave them;
You showed me that you are:
El-Nasa, the God who forgives,
Christ died upon the cross for my sin and shame, he paid the ultimate price.
You saw my heartache, my affliction and listened to my cry
For me you became, El-Roi: the God who sees me
I choose to worship you alone and no other gods,
For You are El-kanno, a jealous God, and a consuming fire.
As a matter of fact, no other god compares to you,
You are high and above all things.
From El-elyon, the most high God, to Jehovah, the self-existing God
The bible is full of names to describe your unique nature.
Creator of all things, you revealed yourself to Moses as YHWH, Yahweh
You are the great I AM...and I stand in awe of who you are.

Money Management

As girls, we have a tendency to buy things we don’t need. I know for a fact that sometimes I look at my wardrobe and think “why did I even buy that, I never wear it”. I make myself feel better by saying; maybe I’ll wear it to a wedding knowing full well, I’m PROPER not going to wear it.
We impulse buy, lie that we’re window shopping (even though we fully brought our card out) and we’re tricked into buying things for 20% off not realizing that wisdom will tell you that 100% off is better. DON’T BUY IT ALL! Let’s face it girls, guys are better than us at saving money. As a woman of virtue and honour, a key aspect that you need to develop is how to budget and spend your money wisely.

Do not be conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewal of your minds. This bible verse is so well known but do people really know what this means? The mindset of the world will tell you to buy so you can save. But think about it; does that even make sense?

Spending your money wisely doesn’t mean behaving stingy or not buying anything at all; after all money’s there to be spent. But spending money wisely means buying things that you need and not want. It means saving your money for things you want instead of borrowing. It also means learning how to be independent and not rely on others for money.

So I have 7 quick tips that I feel will help your money go that extra bit further:

1.   1.   I’m at university, so I know how it feels to borrow money for school fees, loan or whatever. In some circumstances borrowing is inevitable.
The bible teaches us how to handle our money wisely. In fact
5. Proverbs 22:7 tells us that
“The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender”
This is a figurative term meaning that when you borrow money you almost become a slave to the person who lent it to you as you must make efforts to give it back. We all know that feeling and it isn’t nice. Learn to borrow only in extreme circumstances. Even Romans 13:8 tells us “owe man nothing”

2.   2.   Give to God
Don’t expect God to help you if you refuse to bless him with a portion of your income. Whether that’s through the church you attend or through charity. Give to God. Proverbs 3: 9 tells us “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.”

3.     3. Be content with what you have. One of the main reasons we over spend or buy things we don’t need is because we don’t appreciate what we have right in front of us. We constantly have that “I want more” attitude. Which leads you into spending money you don’t have, for things you don’t need. Timothy 6:6 tells us But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that”. We’re told to be content and glad with our current situation.

4.    4.  Set priorities. If you have rent to pay, it isn’t wise to go and buy yourself a pair of Kurt Geiger heels instead. Of course, if you have money for both then by all means go ahead. But obviously there are things that are more important than others. This is where wisdom comes into play and plain old common sense. A new pair of heels or behind in rent payments?

5.   5.   Create a savings account. Not only is this a wise way of piling your money up somewhere but is also a secure way of knowing that in case of emergencies you have some money that you can comfortable rely on. Proverbs 30:24 says that “there be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise: 25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer.” God is saying the ants are wise because they prepare their meat in the summer ready for winter. If you know winter is expensive season for you; i.e a new winter coat, some new boots, or your mum’s birthday then start putting some money aside for it so that when the time comes, you are not suffering.

6.     6. Budget your income. Start shopping in places a little bit cheaper than usual. Markets are a great place to shop where you can look fashionable for half the price. The clothes I’m wearing right now are from a market warehouse where they sell clothes from high street shops, cut out the label and sell them as cheap as chips. Charity shops are cool as well because you can find vintage items as well as new season ‘must haves’. Sometimes as females, we want to look the best and can find ourselves in a competition to impress people who don’t even care about you.

7.   7.   PRAY!! Your financial situation will not sort itself out. Things won’t just fall into place. If you need a job, start applying. If you need to apply for Student Finance, then do it. Too many people pray for ‘financial stability’. I can’t stand it when I hear that. STABILITY means not moving! Pray for financial momentum so that you have the ability to keep generating money. Know what youre praying for. “Dear God, help my financial situation. Amen” NO! Say “Dear God, I know I owe Sara £250 but I ask for you to open a way so that I can her back. Bless me with a job, bless me with the drive and determination to go and find one. When employers see me, let them see your glory shining through me. Amen.”

All these are tips that I’m still learning and putting into practice. It takes a lot of hard work to make sure your finances are in check but as I said, it is the sign of a wise woman. Summer is a time when we have so much free time, use this as an opportunity to draw up a financial plan to keep you in credit!

I pray anyone that was reading this is abundantly blessed.

A New Life With Jesus Christ

“In the beginning, as said in the bible when God created the universe He saw that everything was good and perfect in his sight”

Well you must be thinking where is she going with this? What’s this post all about?

Before you start wondering and thinking what’s going on, let me explicit to you the reason why I’ve chosen to write it.

“ God created you in perfection, simply because He is God and He doesn’t make mistakes”
As the bible says in psalm 139: 14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well”

So if God created everything in perfection, then what went wrong?
Why are there sufferings and people dying? Humans hating on each other?
Ah! The well-known questions! We hear them about every day.
What went wrong with the world God had made so perfect at the beginning?

Well the bible gives a simple answer “ SIN”

Sin means: breaking God’s law. It is the tendency we all have to do wrong

When God first gave people the chance of going His way, we chose instead to please ourselves and to go against God. We have been going our own way ever since.

The bible says we all have sinned against God and fall short of His glory (Romans3: 23)
And that the wage of sin is death!

Now before any of you collapse in front of the screen after reading this, thinking, “ does it mean I AM GONNA DIE?”
Ladies, Take a deep breath and don’t take your eyes off the screen, you’re about to smile again as you once did when you bought a box of chocolate, or went shopping just because you felt like it!

As I said earlier that sin is the tendency we all have to do wrong.
The apostle Paul is a real and amazing example of this when he describe it in Romans 7:18-19 “For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing”

Sin separates us from God. It hinders our prayer.
Here we see that sin is attached to the flesh and that our flesh is led by sin.
Because of our sin we have gone astray, our own way. The bible describes us as sheep (it’s a metaphor ladies, before you take out your mirror thinking “does this hair cut makes me look like a sheep?”) Isaiah 53:6

A person goes his own way instead of God’s way and always lands in trouble. It’s a bit like a car with faulty steering. However much you want to go straight, it’s always pulling to one side. If something isn’t done about it, then you are likely to end up in a ditch!

We sin in many ways, with our thoughts, our words, our actions and even a lack of action.

Here’s when the good news of a super hero coming to save a lady in distress is needed.
Lucky for us, God in his loving mercy and grace saw that we needed a savior. A perfect sacrifice, a person, who will bear the sin of all humanity! (Well that must be heavy !!)
God sent his one and only son. He offered him as a sacrifice to save humanity.

Jesus Christ came and humbled himself, he gave himself as a sacrifice for our sin.
The bible says that He was rejected by His own, but because of his grace and love he didn’t chose to let us in condemnation but instead He chose to die so that we can have eternal life and share His joy when he returns to take his chosen ones, what a mind blowing thing! Almost gave you goose bump, innit?
Romans 6:23 say that for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So when you repent from your sin, put your trust and faith in Christ and confess that He is your lord and savior; you have eternal life in Jesus Christ and sin can’t hold you anymore!
The bible says in romans 8:1 “ Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”

Yes, you can now go around the house and the neighbourhood shouting I AM FREE IN CHRIST!

God is merciful and gracious.  He didn’t just simply save us from eternal judgment but He went beyond it by his grace and adopted us as His own, to make us heirs of eternal life, and to give us every spiritual blessing in heaven!

We are now co-heir with Christ?! The king of kings, the lord of lords who has everything in his hands, has given you his kingdom in heritage! Just thinking about that gets me gassed!
Romans 8:16-17 “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”

So to finish with enthusiasm as we started, let me tell you something: don’t let sin hold you back today! Confess Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour and repent from all your wrongs. For the Lord wants us to live a life of constant repentance; He knows that we are not perfect and that every one is a sinner but by His grace has forgiven us, that is the very reason why He died on the cross. HE DIED FOR YOU, AND ME!

Let us not be conform to this world ladies but let us be transformed by the renewing of our mind in order to discern what God’s pleasing, perfect and good will is.
Let us always humble ourselves before the mighty lion of Judah and ask for forgiveness for who can kneel before God, can stand before great men!

Break the chains that once used to bind you and declare over your life that Jesus Christ came to set the captives free and lead you into eternal joy and happiness.

I take this opportunity to tell someone out there who hasn’t made Jesus Christ has their Lord and saviour. Today the Lord, your Dad in heaven is calling you! Come to me and I will give you peace. He knows your heart and saw how you fought so hard and how life has wronged you, but today He says don’t fight anymore for I fought for you at the cross and won the victory, I won it all for you.

This is a prayer of salvation for those willing to give accept Christ , to surrender it all unto the hands of the great Creator and receive his love. Now say it like you mean it!

"Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey you, and to do your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."

I pray anyone that was reading this is abundantly blessed.

Why Pray?

This video is a reminder of the importance of prayer. It high lights key crucial points that women need to remember and focus on and dwell on during summer. The devil likes to demoralize and neutralize you so that prayer becomes secondary in your life. Summer's a time when we have so many plans and ambitions, but backing it up with prayer is a bullet proof plan. A prayerful woman is priceless; make sure we stir up that spirit within us and become that Proverbs 31 woman.
We have a competition for all our Twitter followers; so make sure you get following: @ChristianChickz !!!

Remember to leave comments and feedback girls!

Thank you for watching and God bless!!

I’m too blessed to be stressed !!

I’m too BLESSED to be STRESSED !!

I remember when I first heard this saying. I thought it was kinda cute, But I never really understood it. I just thought yeah I’m blessed so that means I can’t be stressed. However, with exam season kicking in and revision at it’s peak...I had to put that into practice. The months of May and June are when people are under the most pressure. Exams, deadlines, coursework, jobs and promotions. I know for a fact that as a Law student the workload right now is immense. the other day I sat there and though "How exactly am I blessed and how do I stop myself from getting stressed?" SIMPLE. Read the Bible.

Now I know that seems like a shock horror. Read the bible?!! When I haven’t even finished reading the key concepts of misrepresentation in contract law (Law stuff for those of you who were crazy enough to study law lol). But it really does help. As Psalm 9:9 points out "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble". So there is no better time than when you’re feeling pressured to fall on your knees.

The Bible has some powerful scriptures that you can use as memory verses right before exams or when you’re starting revision to help you realize that you’re not alone. Last Sunday, I went to church and noticed about half of the youth were missing...at first I thought: where’s this party I missed out on boy?! Then I realised it was the beginning of exam season, so everyone was saying: “I think I’m just gonna stay at home and revise”. It seems like a wise thing to do right? Stay at home, reduce the amount of time you spend outside to do your work. But it is far from wise; in fact it’s the biggest mistake you could EVER do!

Exam season should be the time when you’re at church the MOST. The time when you focus on God more because as humans we tend to over do it sometimes. Thinking that, If I just revise non stop, then surely I will pass. And yes that is true but Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches us to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight". That goes for exams too! You can revise for a whole day but it is God that gives you the memory to retain it. It is God that gives you the knowledge to understand it and it is God that gives you the strength and courage to revise. So you can’t do it on your own...you really can’t. And when you do think that you did it by yourself, you’re wrong! He was there all along 

Another reason why turning to God is important during times of stress is because He comforts you. There’s times when I have come home after 9 hours in the library, and I’m, tired, hungry, frustrated, my body hurts and I just want to sleep

but then I remember Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest". And I literally just go to Him, I get on my knees and lay everything that’s on my heart to Him. Remember, prayer is a CONVERSATION with God, there isn’t a set way of doing it nor do you have to say certain things in a specific way. But just opening up to God is the beginning of the one-on-one connection needed to open the floodgates of heaven.

Funnily enough yesterday I was praying and then I just went silent, I just stopped praying because I remembered something my pastor told me. If prayer is a conversation, "make time to LISTEN to what God is saying" as well. When you listen to God, there’s so much that can come out of it and it may just be the answer to a problem question you’ve been struggling with. I’m telling you, God works in weird, amazing ways; you never know what He’s got in store for you!

The book of Psalms is such an amazing book when it comes to leaning on God for strength because not only does it say we should trust the Lord with all our hearts but it tells you WHY as well. I encourage all of you to read it! Did u know that "Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing?" (Proverbs 34:10) So that means everything and anything that is good in the eyes of God, you will have. So you can’t fail with God on your side...that’s impossible!

My friend, even during the times when you take your eyes off Jesus, He never takes His eyes off you. And when you cry out to Him, He will immediately stretch out His hand to catch hold of you. You will not go under. These exams can never get the better if you! What doesn't kill you can only make you stronger.

I remember I used to think, God can’t get my grades up! I need another 62% to get an A but God says in (Jeremiah 32:27) "See, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too hard for me?" Stress is not your portion in Jesus’ name. You will do fine in your exams...no infact you will excel!
Just put God first and you won’t be disappointed.

That’s not to say, spend your whole day praying and don’t revise because God will reveal the answers on the day! "Those who work hard will prosper and be satisfied". {Proverbs 13:4} God isn’t a slave trader, if you work for Him, you will get paid! Work your socks off mate...It will all pay off in the end!

I wish all you guys the very best in your exams, coursework, deadlines and any other pressures you have right now. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Phillipians 4:13)
Success and favour is yours in Jesus name.
Amen.

Left or right? Up or down?

Firstly, I’d like to say a BIG SORRY to all my readers and followers! I’ve been slacking with my blog posts recently. This is due to a major shift in Christian Chickz management, however from today, I'm back on a roll :D My message this month is designed to impact and revolutionize! Hope you like it...

Have you ever sometimes wondered where you’re going to be in the next five years? Or who you’re going to marry or where you’re going to live? Planning for the future always seems so daunting, but it’s something we have to do if we want to get somewhere.

I’m currently in my second year at uni and at every waking moment, people constantly ask: “so what are you looking to do after your degree then?” At first, I was embarrassed because I never knew what to say, so I’d just politely smile and shrug my shoulders. But as time was passing, I realised that knowing where you’re going is fundamental in establishing who you are. So I thought to myself;’ right okay, where do I start?’ however, I quickly learnt that was the wrong way to go about it. A sense of direction doesn’t just come in one day; it requires time to tune in to your strengths and weakness in order to figure out what and where you’d like to be.

There are so many ways you can go about finding out what you want to do and how you to want to do it. Career advisors, CV workshops or even speaking to people in the field you’re interested in. However, sometimes we forget to ask GOD what his plan is for us! Christians tend to forget that we can’t do everything by ourselves, therefore we need to lean on the understanding of the Lord to guide us and help us in what we do. The Bible says in Proverbs 3: 5-6 that "In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success".
So whatever it is, you want to pursue, make sure you get that seal of approval from God so you can carry on; that way when you’re stuck, he will be sure to help you out in times of need.

It’s so easy sometimes to go down the route your parents want you to or to copy what your friends are doing..."I think I want to be a lawyer, no an accountant nah infact uni aint for me. I might aswell just work my way up in retail" But an important thing to bear in mind is what might be your friends portion, may not necessarily might be yours. Romans 12:12 says "Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think. Then you will learn from your own experience how his ways will really satisfy you".

Including God in your plans, is like a bullet proof plan; no plan of the enemy can destroy it. Even when times seem tough or when you’re stuck.
Never feel like giving up, because God will never give up on you. It’s true trials and tribulations always seem like a nightmare but as Hebrews 12:11 teaches us that being punished isn’t enjoyable while it is happening -- it hurts! But afterwards we can see the result, a quiet growth in grace and character". And it’s with that character that you can use to build yourself up with and determine where and how you want your future to go. Trust me sometimes, I'll be doing an assignment and I'll feel like screaming!

Sometimes, I won't understand it or there's not enough time. But I just look unto God for my strength, because I know my purpose, I don't let it put me off.

Another thing I’ve learnt whilst at uni is the power of the tongue.

Growing up in church, I’ve heard that saying many times before but I never really understood its importance up until recently. If you really want something, then say it! Confess it with your mouth! The bible says in Proverbs 12:14 that “from the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things”. So if it’s your plan to get a placement next year; then say it.
This time next year, I will have a placement.
If you’re looking for a job, then say: “The next job interview will be successful and I’ll get the job”. Not only does this help you in believing in yourself but it means that you’re able to prophesy over your life. Obviously saying it with no conviction in the belief will get you nowhere, but the moment you say something with belief, it shall be so. If you don’t say it, you won’t see it. How can you have God’s spirit and fail?
For the Scriptures tell us that no one who believes in Christ will ever be disappointed. Romans 10: 11

My mum always used to tell me; when you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll get distracted. And it’s true, when you’re unsure of what to do, anything that comes along the way will be good enough for you! If you have a vision, write it down and work towards it. “And I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in His grace until His task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns”. Philippians 1:6. Time that is not invested is wasted.

As young women, we feel pressures from various places to conform to stereotypical roles. Maybe university isn’t your path, and maybe travelling the world is. Whatever your path is, just align it with God’s one and you shall surely reap your blessings. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says “no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived the things God has prepared for the ones who love him”. Love God wholly and everything and will just fall into place.
And if you’re not quite sure what your plan is, then seek God. Talk to him. Ask him. In one way or another, he will surely show you his intentions for you. You're a beautiful woman of God who surely has a purpose in this life, once you find it, nobody will be able to stop you. Not even the devil!

I was inspired to write this post, after prayer and mediatation;but I got some of it from Bishop David who is head of the church I go to. We had a Youth Empowerment Service and I was note taking the whole way through..it was truly amazing. He really impacted me, so I thought I'd change the message and make it relevant for Christian Chickz to use as a message.
I pray each and everyone of you were blessed by this...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, LEAVE A COMMENT. We'd love to hear what you have to say :)

May the grace of the Lord our God be with you.
